Doo wop anyone?

Just wondered if anyone shares my interest in 1950s and early 60s doo wop, the platters/five keys/skylinters etc. Some of my favourite memmories are attatched to those kind of records, just wonder if anyone else is into the same stuff. Rock and roll could count on here, too.

I do like it, but my problem is all the bands sound the same. I couldn't sit there and listen to an entire du wap album, but having i pop up in my Winamp shuffle is a pleasant change. I really do enjoy The Skyliners, there's something extremely catchy about those string arrangements. Hmmm, some of my other favorites are The Velvets, The Clovers, The Five Satins, the five Royals, the Five Keys, what is it with a lot of these groups having five in their name anyway? I don't own any of this type of music on vinyl, but if I did I'd probably listen to entire albums.

that's the thing, the compilations feature all the big hits, so they do sound similar but their albums and b sides of singles etc don't.

The five keys are great, and the five sattins. Also the skyliners really did have some nice strings :p
